Lions Win USA National Prep Tournament, Sweep Teays Valley

Tonight, the Lions won the USA National Prep Tournament Championship by beating #23 Teays Valley for the third time this season, 55-44. The Lions were led by Jayln McCreary’s 18 points and numerous, thunderous dunks that made the crowd stand on their feet. Chase Claxton continued his defensive prowless by shutting down multiple shooters for Teays Valley.

Legacy Battles Back to Beat Hillcrest Prep, 58-48

The Lions advanced to the National Prep Championship game Friday night by beating Hillcrest Prep 58-48. Down 12 points at half, the Lions showed serious grit on the defensive end of the floor and chipped away at the lead. Senior Chase Claxton stole the show with his defensive efforts. Lady Lion Cruise Past Wilson Prep 66-21, Advance to Finals

The Lady Lions won its semi final matchup against Wilson Prep, 66-21. LEC had three players score in double figures. Sophomore  Sandaja Vance led all scorers with 19 points, draining four 3 point field goals. Junior Laimani Simmons scored 13 points, while senior AZ Folkes chipped in 12 points. Lions Win National Tournament Opener 71-58

The Boys’ National Team won its opening game in Myrtle Beach against Word of God, 71-58. The Holy Rams jumped out to an early lead, but the Lions battled back for a 7 point half time lead. After losing a portion of the lead at the beginning of the 2nd half, the Lions went on a huge run

Lady Lions Open Nationals with Victory

The Lady Lions opened the USA Prep National Tournament with a 42-37 win over Comenius in their icebreaker game. LEC was led by senior Aniyah Rice’s 14 points, as well as junior Randria Anderson‘s 12 points. LEC opens the championship bracket tomorrow at 2:00 PM vs. Wilson Prep.

Anderson Receives D1 Offer From Longwood University

Junior point guard, Randria Anderson has received her first Division 1 scholarship offer from Longwood University (VA). LEC is very proud of Randria and looks forward to her helping the Lady Lions compete for a Prep National Championship in Myrtle Beach this weekend.

Boys’ and Girls’ National Teams End Season at USA National Prep Championships

LEC’s boys’ and girls’ national programs travel to Myrtle Beach Thursday to compete in the USA National Prep Championships.
