The Lions advanced to the National Prep Championship game Friday night by beating Hillcrest Prep 58-48. Down 12 points at half, the Lions showed serious grit on the defensive end of the floor and chipped away at the lead. Senior Chase Claxton stole the show with his defensive efforts. Claxton held Hillcrest Prep Star and Arizona State commit Kyrie Walker to 5 points. Senior Jayln McCreary poured in 19 points, while CJ Jamison and Kaleb Mack chipped in 13 and 11 points. Rodney Howard and Dearon Tucker battled hard in the post and secured big rebounds down the stretch of the game.

The Lions will play in the championship game tomorrow at 6:20 PM.
